Leading multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy McBains Cooper has appointed Michael Lawless as Director of their Manchester office.
Mr Lawless joins McBains Cooper from competitor Gleeds where he was Director of the Project Management Company, Gleeds Management Services.
Heading up McBains Cooper's expanding Manchester office, Mr Lawless' appointment reflects McBains Cooper's aim to further strengthen their position as a major consultancy in the regional northwest market.
Previously, Mr Lawless has worked throughout the Midlands and the North as Project Manager on many significant schemes across the industry. From transport and aviation to major retail and residential projects, he brings 30 years experience to McBains Cooper.
"He is well known in the region and will be a significant asset to the firm," said Michael Thirkettle, Chief Executive of McBains Cooper.
Mr Lawless has lectured on construction and project management at universities and colleges and is acknowledged as an expert in business relocations, value engineering and solutions for complex logistical problems.
As part of his role at McBains Cooper, Mr Lawless has just been appointed by Warrington Collegiate Institute as Project Advisor. The £27m scheme involves the demolition and rebuilding of the entire campus.
