McBains Cooper has achieved detailed planning permission for all the sites to provide six new police investigation centres for Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies with the Justice Support Services Consortium.
The JSS Consortium comprises Reliance, Kier and Bank of Scotland.
The £55m Police Investigation Centres will accommodate custody, detainee processing and administration functions and will be located at Kings Lynn, Aylsham, Wymondham and Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, Bury St.Edmunds and Ipswich in Suffolk.
All of the Centres will feature a ground source heat pump system solution utilising energy piles and deep bore holes. Solar panels will supplement the geothermal system in order to preheat the hot water system. This will allow further savings in carbon emissions and energy usage and will achieve a BREEAM Very Good standard.
The scheme is scheduled to start on site in January and will be complete within 2 years.
McBains Cooper is providing architecture, structural and civil engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, CDM and cost management to the scheme. |
