Embassy Court, the luxury residential scheme in north London, has been nominated for Residential Development of the Year in the Estates Gazette Green Awards. McBains Cooper provided the sustainable solution to the building for Londonewcastle and Oakmayne Properties.
Embassy Court features the UKs first geothermal heating and cooling system, in a luxury development, generating a 20% saving on the overall energy consumption.
Londonewcastle and Oakmayne Properties commissioned the re-development of the building in St. Johns Wood and have set a new benchmark for luxury residential developments by delivering an environmentally sustainable building, demonstrating that sustainable solutions can be commercially viable.
The eight-storey development comprises 25 luxury apartments including two penthouses. The building was completed in April 2009.
McBains Cooper developed and implemented the sustainable solution and provided mechanical and electrical engineering, EcoHomes assessment services, project management, cost management and building surveying services to the scheme.
Last year, McBains Coopers green technology at B&Q New Malden went on to win the Retail Development of the Year category in the same Awards.
