Leading inter-disciplinary consultancy McBains Cooper and Sanctuary Housing celebrated this week the refurbishment of its 1000th home in the £75m scheme to refurbish 2500 homes to the Decent Homes plus standard in the Shiregreen area of Northern Sheffield.
McBains Cooper is providing project management, building surveying, cost management and mechanical, electrical and structural engineering to the scheme.
Work to reach the decent homes standard include new kitchens, bathrooms, new central heating and upgraded wiring systems. Tenants are offered extra improvements including new internal doors, a living room fire and surround, brick walls and fencing around their gardens and off-street car parking areas where ground conditions allow.
The scheme is due for completion next year.
The Estate was transferred from Sheffield City Council in March 2006.
McBains Cooper has seven offices around the UK and has been involved in a number of high profile regeneration schemes across the country including Elephant & Castle, Birmingham’s Irish Quarter, Ardler Village in Dundee and Gibfield Park in Atherton. |
